Astana Jetfuel LLP is working on methods to improve the success rate of exploratory drilling by utilizing advanced technologies for seismic data processing and interpretation. Specifically, innovative approaches have been employed to account for the upper part of the geological section, aiming to minimize forecasting errors of subsurface structures.
During the design phase, finite-difference modeling of the wave field is performed to determine the optimal parameters for seismic surveys. Currently, geologists spend less time on observation, analysis of geological data, and evaluation of mature fields, thanks to artificial intelligence-assisted data processing.
We achieved a high success rate on the 27 licensed exploration wells drilled onshore, and over 6,778 square kilometers of 3D seismic survey have been completed.
Astana Jetfuel LLP Refinery is consistently pursuing its onshore development strategy across various regions in Kazakhstan, including annual growth in recoverable reserves. As notable progress is made, geologists continue to discover substantially more oil reserves than are being extracted from each project. Over the past few years, the company's activities have resulted in an increase of over 700 thousand tons in reserves.
The primary achievement of the exploration program is the discovery of three new fields within the company's operational regions, based on the results of drilling the initial exploratory wells. Additionally, the company conducted geological exploration of its gas assets, including 3D seismic surveys covering an area of 17 square kilometers.
The increase of Astana Jetfuel LLP’s gas reserves amounted to 3.2 billion m3 additional.
